Tom Root

Tom is a long standing member of Awaken!  He with his wife Maryann have served Awaken for more than 15 years.  Tom was an ordained minister with the Church of God in Mexico, NY before he came to the Assembly of God here in Rome.  Tom is a native of the city of Rome and has many friends in and throughout the community.   They have two sons (Steve & Brian) along with 5 grandchildren. 

Tom's heart is for the nation and to see many come to know Jesus.  His prayerful cry is always from the scripture 1 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, then I will heal their land".  He and Maryann are faithful prayer warriors interceding for the church family.  In addition to prayer, they are the main care-takers of the building.  Many times they visit those in the hospital, shut-ins, and nursing home visitations.  They are super servants with a big heart of compassion!

I know it is Tom and Maryann's heart to see God move in revival here in Rome and everytime Tom blows the shofar in our services, he calls all to worship from the North, the south, east and west!
