The Altar of Courage calls God’s people to rebuild with faith when strength feels small and resources seem insufficient. Through Haggai’s prophetic word, God reminds Israel—and us—that courage is not rooted in what we see, but in who is with us. Though the present work may appear unimpressive compared to past glory, God promises His abiding presence, a future glory greater than the former, and a coming shaking that will reveal what truly lasts. When we choose obedience over fear and plant seeds of faith despite uncertainty, God declares, “From this day on, I will bless you.” The altar of courage is where discouraged hearts are strengthened, faith is renewed, and obedience becomes the doorway to divine blessing.
