Zechariah’s final vision lifts our eyes to the day when Jesus returns as conquering King and faithful Shepherd. These chapters remind us that what Christ will do at His return reveals who He is right now—Creator, Defender, Cleanser, and King. God promises to defend His people, pour out a Spirit of grace and repentance, cleanse them through a fountain of mercy, refine them through holy perseverance, and establish a kingdom marked by worship, justice, and light. At the Altar of the King’s Return, we are called to examine our allegiance, surrender our hearts in repentance, and live today as holy worshipers in anticipation of His coming. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
